ADORE Events & Feedback Page

ADORE / City of Cape Town. 2019 Mandela Day Pictures and Feedback

This years ADORE / City of Cape Town was the biggest ever. More sponsors, more learners and more fun. As with every year the event was to ensure that local learners from the Atlantis area were exposed to The Witzands Aquifer Nature Reserve to ensure they understand the critical role that Bio Diversity plays in all or our lives.

In addition the learners are treated to a thrilling 4×4 drive around the area and sandboarding provided by Mamba Sandboarding. Breakfast was provided by Truda snacks who also included plenty of snacks in the form of a goodie bag. This event is in its ninth year special mention must be given to Total Parklands & Total SA who have been with us from day one. This Year Total Parklands provided goodie bags not just for the learners but for the drivers as well. After the drive the learners enjoyed a meal provided by Cajun Spur Table Bay Mall.

Our thanks go out to our Drivers who give their time and their 4×4’s for free. Our sponsors and the City of Cape Town and their staff without whom this event would not be possible. Looking forward to seeing you all again next year.

We note there are still 4×4’s entering the reserve illegally. Please make sure that you play by the rules and buy a permit.

Please also drive safely. Don’t drive beyond the limits of your vehicle or your driving skills. ADORE recommends that you never drive alone and preferably drive with experienced drivers.

ADORE Dassen Coastal Complex

ADORE has taken the step to apply for inclusion on the Dassen Coastal Complex. You can download the draft management plan from the link below.

The ADORE committee were made aware of the proposed promulgation of the area which will form the Dassen Coastal Complex in December 2018. To ensure that there is off road representation on the area PAAC (Protected Area Advisory Committee) the ADORE committee took the decision to make this application on the behalf of those who would want to access this area using a 4×4. This decision was based work ADORE has done in Atlantis Dunes and our inclusion and experience serving on the Witzands Aquifer PAAC.

Keep Atlantis Dunes Litter Free

Hi Dune Users

We have received a mail from the City of Cape in our capacity as PAAC (Protected Area Advisory Committee) member. The City has noted an increase in litter in the Dunes. You can read or download a copy of this mail by clicking this link. Read or download letter

We would asked all dune users to respect the environment. Atlantis Dunes is a bin free area so please take all of your litter home with you. We would ask that if you see litter. Even if its not yours stop and pick it up and lets keep Atlantis Dunes litter free

We thank you for your help and understanding
